For high school pupils, they are located within the catchment area of Britannia Secondary School on Cotton Drive. Another notable school in Strathcona is the Vancouver Japanese Language School, which was founded in 1906 and is Canada’s oldest Japanese language school. Strathcona is served by two primary schools that are part of the Vancouver School Board. Admiral Seymour Elementary School serves students in kindergarten through seventh grade. And Lord Strathcona Elementary, with classes K to 7, is officially Vancouver’s oldest school.
On Keefer Street, the Strathcona Fitness Centre is a fully equipped community facility with cardio and strength-building equipment, free weights, and a stretching space. Additionally, the popular Ray-Cam Cooperative Centre serves the neighborhood, including a gym, games room, computer lab, senior’s lounge, and a variety of family events. MacLean Park is a significant open area in Strathcona. Community activities, Sunday pick-up soccer games, outdoor weddings, and harvest celebrations are all held here.
