Merrick Architecture

Merrick Architecture (MA) was established in 1984 in Vancouver, BC, and expanded to Victoria in 1994. Over three decades, their practice has grown from a handful of practitioners to a vibrant workforce of 27 headquartered in Vancouver and Victoria. By focusing on various areas of the architectural profession, the business honours the skill of design and construction. Their success depends on solid ties with people with a shared goal. Established to advance the work of acclaimed architect Paul Merrick, the partnership has grown into a multi-disciplinary practice owned equally by principals Gregory Borowski, Mitch Sakumoto, Shaun McIntyre, and Louise Webb, each an accomplished practitioner in their own right. At least one principal contributes hands-on leadership on all projects, supported by our Senior/Managing Associates and Associates.
By focusing on the experience of its founders and senior personnel throughout the life of a project, this organization provides maximum benefit to its clients and mentoring to support staff. This allows them to keep their core crew efficient and productive. With their workforce spread across two medium-sized offices, they have the opportunity to work share as necessary, balancing the workload among a more considerable staff contingent with mixed expertise. The dynamic company provides full-service architectural and urban design services. Their collective abilities encompass a wide range of experience, design talent, technical expertise, and client relationships. Merrick Architecture’s diverse portfolio of creative, well-recognized projects in both the commercial and public sectors helped them win the RAIC Award for Outstanding Architectural Firm in 2005.
