Our design ambition is to satisfy both the practical demands and the spirits of those who inhabit our projects. Cornerstone Architecture is a Vancouver-based architectural firm founded in 1983. The firm has broad experience in a range of building types for both public and private clients. The firm brings to these projects a commitment to meet client objectives in a consultative manner based on a high quality of design, and on sound environmental, technical and financial understanding. A key to successful design is to ensure it is based on a complete understanding of client ambitions and requirements – a well-defined problem is well on the way to being successfully resolved. We are experienced in the process of analyzing existing conditions, developing the program of requirements, identifying opportunities and testing alternate strategies. Of equal importance to successful design is the commitment to the resulting quality of experience. We are committed to finding the design response that resonates with the client’s core values and vision, and fulfills the potential of place.
East 7th Avenue
includes a mixture of two and three-bedroom townhouses, arranged in two blocks. There will be a single level of underground parking with 15 stalls, and 44 bicycle parking stalls. The façade will be clean and modern, with minimalist materials of predominantly yellow brick and white cementitious panels on the upper levels.
West 29th Avenue
The three-storey building will consist of six, three-bedroom units over one level of underground parking. Each home will have outdoor space on the main floor, as well as a rooftop patio. To help meet Passive House standard, the architects are considering constructing the parkade ceiling with mass timber to reduce carbon impacts.
