Atria Development Corporation

Focusing on Toronto’s downtown east core, Atria Development has redeveloped lands for residential, commercial, and industrial use in the Greater Toronto Area over the last 35 years. Their initiatives include the challenging but rewarding task of converting abandoned buildings into affordable, functional studio lofts where artists, photographers, and film industry professionals may live and work. They have a long and renowned history of discovering possibilities in abandoned buildings and neglected communities and rejuvenating them.
Atria Development was a pioneer in the renovation of the Queen-Carlaw area more than three decades ago. Realizing the potential of this neighborhood’s rich architectural history and character, they were among the first to seek and get residential zoning rights for the area’s industrial buildings. Atria Development has paved the way for the return of people and families from Toronto to this area by developing unique living spaces. Their development endeavors aim to merge the beauty and elegance of the past with the sophisticated urban architecture of the present. Their very successful i-Zone liveworklofts project in 1999 was quickly followed by Parkwood Residences in Oshawa, Garment Factory Lofts in Leslieville, and Kimberley Court in The Beach.
Hans Jain and Vipin Jain, whose father, an Indian-born engineer called Gyan (John), created the property development and management firm more than three decades ago, oversee the family-owned enterprise Atria. Atria Development is currently rebuilding, regenerating, and revitalizing urban industrial zones. Their tenants and homeowners are the driving force behind the success and compassion of their firm.
