Freed Developments is a group with the desire and foresight to become much more than just a development firm. By redefining the region over the last decade with new condominium developments, they have been essential in the regeneration of what is today the popular King Street West neighbourhood.
In the neighborhood, there are over $1 billion under completed structures and another $1 billion in construction. They have received several honors, including the High Rise Project of the Year Award from BILD in 2016, the Award of Excellence from the Toronto Urban Design Awards in 2015, and the People’s Choice Award in 2013. They believe in redefining the industry with their own style of design-based development, which necessitates a concern with the smallest of details.
The genius behind this group is Peter Freed. Peter had always envisioned himself as a prolific, game-changing constructor, but his route was not always spectacular. Peter, the son of a real estate attorney, left McGill University in 1989 to start his own toilet paper and cleaning products business, a long cry from his future achievements.
