Meanwhile, Macdonald Communities Limited oversees all Canadian development activities, primarily focusing on creating family-oriented communities in British Columbia and Alberta. The name “Macdonald Communities” underscores the company’s commitment to establishing neighborhoods where people can settle, grow, and build their lives.
Since its inception in 1985, under the guidance of founder Robert Macdonald, the corporation has established a legacy of both commercial and residential projects. Over the years, they have constructed more than 4,000 high-quality homes across single-family and multi-family developments. In 1999, the company began concentrating on single-family communities and condominium projects, aiming to provide a range of high-standard living options in thriving communities. In September 2018, a generational shift occurred as John Macdonald, Robert’s son, assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer for the Canadian development division, overseeing its day-to-day operations. Robert Macdonald remains deeply involved as the Group CEO, focusing his efforts on the U.S. division’s activities.
