O’Shanter Development Company is a family-owned residential property management and real estate investment company with international quality and environmental management accreditations. Adam and Jonathan Krehm now run the business that their father, William Krehm, founded in Toronto in 1963. With over 50 employees, the company can meet the requirements of all of its clients and tenants. The property portfolio spans over 1,650,000 square feet and includes over 2,300 residential rental units.
The management team has expertise in operational and project management, construction, energy management, fire code retrofit, mechanical systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical, and plumbing. With all of this available talent and expertise housed under one roof, their tenants benefit from a team of professionals working to ensure their buildings are managed professionally and efficiently.
O’Shanter was Canada’s first property management company to be certified in ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management. The company adheres to the highest professional practices and standards. O’Shanter gives reusable shopping bags to renters as well as plain and accessible banners that address the question “What Is Recyclable?” Furthermore, Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources has recognized O’Shanter as an “Energy Innovator,” as a result of combining large concepts with basic solutions, such as instituting a strategic recycling program in every O’Shanter property.


The Recycle Council of Ontario recognized O’Shanter in 2008 for its excellence and dedication to a sustainable environment. O’Shanter was able to reduce its power usage by 15%, its water usage by 43%, and its gas usage by 45%! That same year, O’Shanter was recognized for his environmental consciousness and received the Environment Award of Excellence from the Federation of Rental-Housing Providers of Ontario (FRPO).
