Stinson Properties

Stinson Properties, founded in 1982 by Harry Stinson, is a privately held, vertically integrated real estate investment and development company with a passion for hospitality and a flair for uniqueness. Stinson Properties has a track record of accomplishment in residential living, hotels, and commercial investment and development in Canada and the United States. Harry Stinson is a well-known businessman and innovator. Stinson’s first venture was a catering company in Toronto that handled private dinners and banquets, as well as a seasonal (summertime) café in Muskoka. Stinson founded The Groaning Board Restaurant in 1971, Toronto’s first “healthy food” and non-smoking establishment, which was successfully run by the Stinson family for nearly 25 years, an exceptionally long tenure in the restaurant business.
After purchasing his first condominium and noting that there did not appear to be any realtors who understood anything about condominiums, Stinson obtained his real estate license and chose to concentrate on the sale of condominiums in 1980. He started his specialized brokerage after an apprenticeship at RE/MAX.
After developing a reputation as condominium experts, they saw an increasing desire for “interesting” options, and not simply because a condo unit was less expensive than a house. Stinson also found he was having a difficult time selling houses he was unhappy with, instinctively offering design upgrades that simply reminded customers of why they were delaying making an offer. Stinson became increasingly involved in condominium development over the years, serving as a principal, joint venture partner, and/or consultant on a variety of projects, with the common thread being that each project was comparatively unique and/or posed unusual design, marketing, or construction challenges.
