As a 12-year-old student, Miklas started working for his father Dusty on a land survey team during the summer break. Miklas was motivated to learn all he could about the construction sector by his desire to develop his hidden skill. Miklas worked as a rod man, a laborer, and a frame carpenter before becoming Canada’s youngest Assistant Site Supervisor for Green Park Homes at the tender age of 23.
