Neighborhood

The urban plaza is intended to be pedestrian-friendly, using distinctive materials for the pavement and site furnishings. Retail will define the plaza’s perimeter, while the Aquatic Centre and Fraser River Pier will stretch to the Fraser River. Fraser Mills will be animated by retail, cafés, a grocery store, and restaurants, as well as seasonal programming including a farmer’s market and food trucks.

Transportation

For people who use public transportation, there are a lot of options, like the West Coast Express, the Skytrain, and a lot of regular bus service. Evergreen Extension: Coquitlam commuters love the new 10.9 km long extension of Metro Vancouver’s SkyTrain rapid transit system. It runs from Coquitlam Town Center, through Port Moody, and back to Coquitlam on North Road with a stop at Lafarge-Lake Douglas.

Education

It’s the third-largest school district in British Columbia. Coquitlam West and Maillardville have 11 elementary schools, 6 middle schools, and 4 secondary schools in School District No. 43, which is in Coquitlam. Traditional Learning Academy and Queen of All Saints Elementary are two private schools.

Mundy Park, Coquitlam’s biggest park, with 176 acres of urban forest, paths, sports fields, recreational facilities, and an outdoor swimming pool. Mundy and Lost Lakes are two of the park’s two lakes. Mundy Park’s community loop takes around an hour to walk.

Fraser Mills will have over 0.9 kilometers of riverside promenade and a restored 13,000-square-foot pier, enabling residents and visitors to experience the dynamic waterfront. Notably, we are proposing a 48,000-square-foot riverside Aquatic Center with an indoor pool.

Fraser Mills, located on the city of Coquitlam’s sole residential beachfront acreage, provides the city’s potential to make a significant statement on the Fraser River and to open it up to the community. Fraser Mills’ riverside design will provide access to the water for neighbours to the north, east, and west, including Maillardville, Burnaby, New West, and Port Coquitlam.
