76 Kippendavie Ave, Toronto, ON

The Kew Lofts are so near to the shore that occupants often get a whiff of the salty ocean wind – until they recall that down the street is Lake Ontario.

The Beaches district, particularly in the summer, gets so bustling with sunbathers, rollerbladers, and volleyball players that the boardwalk sometimes seems like our very own Santa Monica or Long Island.

57 fortunate owners may now call the Kew Lofts at 66 Kippendavie Ave home, courtesy of Worsley Urban Partners. Built in 2014, it’s unsurprising that the east end Toronto development swiftly sold out.

Highlights

Neighborhood

The planted path below has an abundance of foliage to appreciate as you make your journey to and from your front door. However, this vegetation is not indicative of the developers’ commitment to sustainability: green roofs are shown above, and Worsley has pledged to construct solely near public transportation which is sometimes an actual challenge in Toronto.

Transportation

As previously stated, the developers of the Kew Lofts are required to make their buildings transit accessible. This manner, even those without a vehicle may use the Queen East streetcar, which stops at Queen and Elmer Avenue. Passengers may go east or west on this route, or north on the Woodbine bus toward the Bloor-Danforth subway station at Woodbine.

Those with automobiles, on the other hand, will benefit from Lakeshore Boulevard, which quickly connects motorists to the Don Valley Parkway or the Gardiner Expressway. Residents may also go east on Kingston Road until they reach the 401 for city breaks.

Education

Due to its closeness to elementary and secondary schools, Kew Beach Living is popular with students and young professionals. Among the possibilities are Ryerson Community School, Ogden Junior Public School, Lord Lansdowne Junior, Senior Public School, and Oasis Alternative Secondary School.

Post-secondary institutions such as OCAD University (seven minutes away), the University of Toronto (eight minutes away), and Ryerson University (fourteen minutes away) are all within a short commute.

Outdoor

The Beach (or the Beaches, if you’re a purist) is one of those rare locales that combines urban life with natural beauty. Kew Gardens, a vast park with tennis courts, a baseball pitch, a wading pool, and a variety of wonderful picnic areas, is just around the corner. This park is particularly ideal for winter outings: the ice rink is a given, but there is also plenty of room for fort-building and snowball fighting.

Residents of the Kew Lofts can walk to Woodbine Beach, which has volleyball courts and an Olympic-sized swimming pool, in approximately five minutes. On rainier days, the Alliance Cinemas, located just north of Woodbine Park, provides both shelter and entertainment. Queen Street East is a perfect street for rewarding oneself after an active day, with companies such as Dufflet Pastries and Ed’s Real Scoop on hand to satiate any appetite. Foodland is within an eight-minute walk from 66 Kippendavie Avenue for more practical shopping visits.
