Four years after the overall brick demolition and classification of the building, under the supervision of heritage expert ERA Architects, the rebuilt and expanded buildings (including those designed by ArchitectsAlliance on the outer walls of the rebuilt heritage) are now ready to welcome their first tenants.

Among companies planning to do business in retail space, Loblaws, a grocery store of the same name, is just days away from opening a new flagship store at the site. Signs for the shopper drug market have also appeared in recent weeks, and clothing retailer Joe Forrester (Joe Fresh) is gearing up to open its doors in the building.

The complete reconstruction of the exterior wall includes restored brick and limestone finishes (which we described in more detail in earlier articles on the project). A recent addition to the overall aesthetic detail is the addition of commemorative blinds on the second and third floors of the rebuilt warehouse, protruding along the main lakeside boulevard.

Loblaws will occupy 4000 square feet on the ground floor, while shoppers will occupy 12000 square feet., Joe Fresh will occupy 6400 square feet. Loblaws occupies the entire 45000 square feet of the second floor, with 1650 square feet of mezzanine above. The total retail volume of the site is 101378 square feet and office space is 160989 square feet. Along the Lake Shore Boulevard street on the first floor, the smaller space is set to include a 1400 square foot coffee shop and a 1800 square foot office hall.

Meanwhile, construction of two IBI Group-designed apartment buildings developed by Concord Adex in the north is also under way. The 37-and 41-story towers, known as The LakeFront and The LakeShore, are now welcoming their first residents, as evidenced by signs on Bathurst (Bathurst) instructing residents to take their suite keys to the pick-up location. Although the tower is actually completed, various elements at the bottom of the tower continue to work, including a two-story restaurant space in front of Bathurst Street at the bottom of the west apartment tower.

Other finishes use several separate buildings in the Bathurst (Bathurst) and other retail spaces below the Gardner Highway (Gardiner Expressway), including four commercial retail units of 913sq ft, 1653 sq ft, 7599 sq ft and 8858 sq ft.
