Over the past 12 months, led by Halifax (30.8%), Hamilton (28.0%), Ottawa-Gatino (25.8%), Montreal (19.4%) and Victoria (18.5%), the composite index rose 16.0% from the same period last year, the strongest 12-month increase on record. Lagging behind the national average are Toronto 15.9%, Vancouver 14.7%, Quebec City 10.8%, Winnipeg 9.9%, Calgary 6.0% and Edmonton 5.5%.
The monthly indices of seven towns in the Golden Horseshoe region of Ontario, including Barry, Guihu, Binford, Kitchena, St. Jaffrey, O’Shahua and Petersburg, all increased compared with the same period last year. Barry kept the highest with an increase of 35.4%, while Petersburg, the lowest, rose by 30.0%.
The monthly house price indices of London, Kingston, Belleville, Windsor, Thunder Bay and Shambili, which are not part of Ontario’s six composite indices, have all risen compared with the same period last year. Lei Wan, which had the lowest increase, also increased by 18.8%, while Belleville, the highest, rose by 34.7%.
Abosford-Misson in British Columbia rose 3.54% in a single month, up 29.63% over the same period last year, and Keelung Nathan rose 3.08% in a month, up 19.96% over the same period last year.
