The GO Transit system includes rail and bus transit. There is one main road in Markham that offers travellers with an easy, traffic-free path from Stouffville to downtown Toronto. In addition, four major GO stations are located in Markham: Milliken, Unionville, Centennial, Markham, and Mt. Joy in Greensborough. At addition, there is a secondary station in Stouffville.

Highway 7, Highway 48 (also known as Markham Road or Main Street South of Important Mackenzie), 16th Avenue, McCowan, and 9th Line are among the major roads in Markham. The HWY 404 is an important route to downtown, whereas the HWY 407 is a toll road that will transport you East/West.

Education

A variety of schools are available in the town. Nearby schools include Coledale Public School, Lincoln Alexander Public School, St. Patrick Catholic Elementary School, and Markham Public School.

In addition, those who like outdoor activities will find a wealth of magnificent parks and leisure facilities such as Angus Glen Community Centre, Milliken Community Centre, and the Markham Pan Am Centre, all of which provide swimming opportunities.

Four of Markham’s nine golf courses are private, while the other five are open to the public. This implies that even the most avid golfer will be occupied for days at a time. The York Downs Golf & Country Club, a private club with a dress code for its members, is the most elite in the city. Additionally, Bayview Country Club, which was built by Robbie Robinson and Doug Carrick, is an excellent alternative.
