High-rise condo in Toronto

4779 Yonge St, Toronto, ON

The Hullmark Centre is a focal point in North York’s Yonge and Sheppard districts!

Hullmark Centre is a condominium property developed by Tridel and Hullmark at 4779 Yonge St. in Toronto. The building’s architectural concept includes two slender point towers set in rotation along the curvilinear sweep of a five-story commercial office podium. This sweep is accentuated by a concave environmental visual media screen, which animates the Grand Plaza, enhancing its year-round usability and establishing an urban node as one of Toronto’s important high-density development areas.

This project has 35 to 45-story buildings and 340 units with suites ranging from 462 to 2,272 square feet. Kirkor Architects and Planners designed this high-end residence while Mike Niven Interior Design Inc. and SGH Design Partners, both award-winning design firms, were picked as the building’s interior designers. The construction was finished in 2014.

The Hullmark Centre has swiftly become an iconic uptown Toronto landmark, a favourite of photographers and locals, and has been featured in countless print publications. Hullmark has set a new benchmark for “live, work, and play” in Toronto with its elegant residences, premium retail choices, unique condominium offices, and direct access to the Yonge Subway station.

The two-point towers of Hullmark Centre, which hold 240,000 square feet of office space, 60,000 square feet of premier commercial office space, and about 684 residential condo apartments, rotate in a cubist way, opening up unobstructed sightlines from the inside of the building toward the neighbourhood. The office component is combined with a different massing and façade finish following the “form follows function” approach, adding an extra cubist element to the project’s sculptural shape.[mobileonly]Read More

The buildings’ platform serves as a background for grade-related shops, which include a large-scale grocery store with direct access to the two subway lines below. To improve the pedestrian experience, the Yonge Street walkway has been gradually enlarged into the Grand Plaza, with textured asphalt, glass canopies, and practical street plants. To express openness, the ground floor is lined with a transparent glass foundation, with comfortably proportioned pedestrian canopies bordering the façade to stimulate the stores. All entrances are planned as “portals,” which are recurring components that represent the building’s access points.

Tridel
Hullmark

Developer

Tridel is a primarily Toronto-based real estate developer that gradually expanded into condominium high-rise construction during the 1950s. They are a heavy-hitter in the condo development industry and is one of longest active builders to date.
The company was spearheaded by Jack Delzotto an italian immigrant, who has since passed, even though, his three sons have continued on with his legacy. Tridel is certainly one of the most important condo developers in the city today. They simply know how to keep on top of the trends by demonstrating, the progressive thought process of building skyward as opposed to outward.
Hullmark is a real estate investment and development firm established in 1950 by Murphy Hull, a Polish immigrant who came to Canada when he was nine years old in 1934. Their diversely talented team is committed to establishing a vibrant and dynamic urban Toronto, with specializations in private equity and finance, asset management, development, tenant experience, and placemaking. Their team is hands-on and flexible, creative and analytical, and they see possibilities where others do not.
They make investments in places they know and love. They have a unique role in developing the communities they call home by focusing on both cultural and geographic areas. Their approach enables them to build destinations in ways that single developments and less focused strategies cannot. Whether through the office, retail, or residential space—or a combination of the three—they want to build spaces that define their city and demonstrate to the world the possibilities of well-designed locations.
