The Rogers family has a rich history in Canadian business, primarily through Rogers Communications Inc., a renowned and publicly traded telecommunications company founded by Ted Rogers, one of Canada’s most influential business figures.

The story of M City is deeply rooted in the legacy of Ted Rogers in Mississauga. In the 1960s, he acquired 43 hectares of land in the area for the placement of transmitters for one of his early ventures, radio station CHFI, which remains the most popular radio station in Toronto to this day. After moving the transmitters in the early 1990s, Ted Rogers made a strategic decision to retain ownership of the land, eventually selling a significant portion to residential builders.
