What’s Changing in 2025?

- Families may receive up to $2,739
- The disability supplement can add an additional $821 per eligible person
These amounts are paid out in three advance installments, with the next payment scheduled for July 12, 2025. If the date falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment will arrive on the previous business day.
Who Is Eligible for Canada Workers Benefit Payments?
To receive the Canada Workers Benefit payments, you must:
- Be a Canadian resident
- Be 19 or older (or live with a spouse or child)
- Have earned working income over $3,000
- File your 2024 income tax return, including Schedule 6
Income limits:
- Singles: Full benefit if income is less than ~$26,149, phased out up to ~$36,749
- Families: Full benefit under ~$29,833, phased out by ~$48,093
You also cannot qualify if you’re a full-time student for over 13 weeks (unless you have dependents) or incarcerated for more than 90 days.
When Are the Canada Workers Benefit Payments Issued?
The CRA issues advance payments on the following dates:
- January 12
- July 12
- October 12
The remaining balance is paid when your tax return is processed. All payments are made by direct deposit or cheque, depending on how you’ve set up your CRA account.
