Recent projects

Ten York
Situated at the intersection of York and Harbour Streets, Ten York is a dramatic 70 storey addition to Toronto’s skyline. The geometry of the site inspired the creation of a triangular tower floor plan atop a six-storey podium that terminates in a sharp glass point at its western end. The four-storey entrance lobby combines with the lobby of One York across the street to form the York Street gateway to the Southcore Office and Entertainment District. The base of the building acts as a backdrop to the new Public Park to the southeast of the intersection and is also a brightly lit container for the public art by Josephine Meckseper.

SCALA
Surrounded on two sides by a wooded ravine, the project is a joint venture between Toronto Community Housing (TCH) and Tridel to replace the existing TCH housing stock on the site while adding a new residential condominium building along the southern edge. The terraced form of the condominium building minimizes shadows onto neighbouring properties while providing generous outdoor living spaces. Mimicking the terraced profile of the building, a zig-zag pattern of perforated aluminum panels encloses the balconies on the sides of the building. A new internal public road connects the site to Leslie Street and is flanked by playgrounds and landscaped open spaces. The road leads to a drop-off for the condominium building that also functions as a pedestrian connection to the ravine

The Tableau Condominiums are a rare example of a residential development that makes such a big impact. Urban Capital's construction at 117-125 Peter Street, in collaboration with Wallman Architects, provides prospective residents drawn to the excitement of the Entertainment District with a sufficiently outstanding structure to call home.

The Tableau Condominiums' distinguishing design element, its podium, creates a boundary between private apartments and public office and retail areas, and is as clever as it is attractive. It is perfectly at home in the Queen West neighborhood. Furthermore, a vibrantly colored public art piece by globally known Canadian artist Shayne Dark adds a vibrant injection of vitality to 125 Peter's dark, sculptural pedestal — a suitable façade for such a sophisticated apartment.

They just need to go half a block north to Queen Street West to board the 501 Streetcar, a significant east-west line that runs through the Core, all the way east to the Beaches, and west beyond High Park.

On its route, the 501 Streetcar also passes past two subway stations, Osgoode and Queen. Both stations are only a few minutes away, and passengers may use metro trains from any station to go to any location in the city quickly.

Entertainment

There are several excellent live performance places on King West for those who enjoy live music. Local and traveling theater organizations aspire to perform at the Royal Alexandra and Princess of Wales Theatres, both of which are within a short walk from the front doors. In addition, the Roy Thomson Hall, located on King West and Simcoe Street, is home to the legendary Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir.

Outdoor

Last but not least, drivers are conveniently located at 125 Peter. The highway takes only a few minutes to reach by car: one needs only to hop onto Spadina Avenue, the next street west of Peter, and head south to connect to the Gardiner Expressway, which runs along the lake Shore.

Amenities
